Resort Title Company, Inc. is Colorado Corporation with its office located in Breckenridge, Colorado.  Kent Willis, the owner of Resort Title, is a licensed Colorado attorney who has been practicing real estate law in Breckenridge for over 30 years.  Prior to being admitted to the Colorado Bar, Kent worked at Chicago Title Insurance in Denver, working as a searcher, title officer, closer and in their claims department. Today, Kent’s principal role with Resort Title is overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Company to ensure compliance with best practices and guidelines implemented by our underwriter (Attorney’s Title Guaranty Fund in Denver) and the Colorado Division of Insurance.

 

Since 2008, the General Management of Resort Title has been handled by Michael Connelly.  Michael is also a licensed attorney with a practice emphasizing real estate.  Prior to receiving his Juris Doctor from Denver University, Michael was a title closer for Security Title Guaranty Fund in Boulder, Colorado.  During his time in Breckenridge, Michael has handled a number of closings for deed restricted properties in Breckenridge and Summit County.  This experience has included the preparation of the Town’s Limiting Appreciation Promissory Note and Deed of Trust.  Conducting these transactions has also created a good working relationship with the Summit Combined Housing Authority and Town of Breckenridge staff, which ensures that the requirements related to local employment, income and assets are met for each transaction.
